Arlington Heights Post Office

  • Arlington Heights Post Office

Project Details

The Arlington Heights Post Office is quite recognizable with the Fort Worth Tornado Sculpture on its grassy lawn at the corner of 7th and University. For this project, we placed the massive steel beams — remnants of the massive tornado that swept through Fort Worth in 2000— in the triangular plot formed by the meeting of 7th Street, University Avenue, and Bailey Avenue. The, we  poured the foundation, erected the steel frame, and finished out the new post office. Additionally, a tile mural was placed on the outward side of the building with the Postal Services unofficial motto: “Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
